Job summary

Actus Consulting Group seeks a Construction Estimator (Industrial/ General Construction) for on-site duties in Worthington, OH. The role reports to the Preconstruction Manager and involves estimation throughout design to construction phases.

The candidate will read blueprints, develop preliminary budgets, and coordinate with architects and engineers while maintaining bids and cost analyses. This is a full-time onsite position offering a broad range and opportunities for cost-saving insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction, or related field required.
• 2+ years of construction estimation experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and drawings with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, specs and technical docs to prepare bid documents and estimates.
• Stay updated on safety codes and construction improvements.
• Understand building/site codes and regulations.
• Prepare preliminary budget forecasts for preconstruction design teams.
• Collaborate with architects and other professionals throughout projects.
• Maintain bids/engineering firm/trade contractor catalogs and files.
• Coordinate pre-bid meetings onsite or online.
• Maintain communication with contractors during bids and construction.
• Prepare bid documents with design teams and engineers.
• Evaluate offers to purchase and cost changes.
• Identify value engineering and cost-saving options.
• Prepare budgets, reports and project plans for review.
• Schedule client/site meetings as required.
• Process paperwork and travel to sites as needed.
• Monitor construction processes.
