Job summary
Georgia-Pacific LLC in Prosperity, SC, is seeking a Fluid Power Technician to lead hydraulic and pneumatic systems in the plywood operation. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, installation, and design improvements for fluid power equipment.
The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, knowledge of electrical/hydraulic circuits, and experience with air compressor systems. Certifications or future certification in MLT 1/IHM may be required.
Qualifications
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic central circuits for troubleshooting.
- Experience in fluid power and pneumatic systems & circuitry.
- Experience with air compressor and dryer systems.
- Must be willing to obtain MLT 1 and IHM certifications if not already held.
Responsibilities
- Owns the Fluid Power program for the site.
- Analyze oil samples and advise based on ISO counts.
- Perform preventative maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Install new hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic issues as the technical expert.
- Assist with design/redesign of hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Attend training sessions on fluid power and hose making.
- Provide failure analysis on failed equipment.
- Maintain Hydraulic Hose Room as sole owner.
- Document changes and system improvements.
