Job summary

Thermo‑Trol Systems Inc. is seeking an Industrial Field Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems at client sites.

The role requires strong electrical, mechanical, and programming knowledge and the ability to work independently in fast-paced field environments. The ideal candidate will have PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), familiarity with HMI/SCADA software, and travel willingness.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA software and programming tools.
  • Familiarity with VFDs.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, control circuits, and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints, wiring schematics, and diagrams.
  • Ability to distinguish color-coded wiring and safety markings.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and terminate control circuits per diagrams.
  • Strong client and team communication.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and instrumentation. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and programming principles, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced field environment.
