Job summary

Clean Harbors in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair equipment across the facility. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, familiarity with pumps, valves, piping, tanks, and industrial machinery to keep operations safe and compliant.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can prioritise work, troubleshoot issues quickly, and perform preventative maintenance with minimal supervision while upholding safety and environmental

Qualifications

• 1+ years millwright type experience preferred.
• 1+ year maintenance experience preferred or two years education.
• Plant maintenance experience in one of: preventative maintenance, installations, welding, electrical, pipefitting.
• Demonstrated education or welding experience.
• Hydraulics systems experience.
• Pumps experience with centrifugal and diaphragm pumps an asset.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a mechanical aptitude test.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment and infrastructure.
• Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, conveyors, shredders, compressors, and related equipment.
• Maintain piping systems, valves, fittings, pumps, and transfer systems.
• Support tank farm operations, transfer lines, and containment systems.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment and respond to breakdowns and emergencies.
• Document maintenance activities and coordinate with operations to minimize disruption.
