Job summary

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.
  • Work closely with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery.
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Leverage technical knowledge, experience, and client relationships to assist in project design execution and evaluation.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
  • Mentor, train, and review the work of junior engineering staff, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB’s clients.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree in Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.
What You'll Bring
  • Knowledge of effective work processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to independently progress most designs and tasks within the discipline.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
  • Strong time management, proactive forecasting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification, depending on discipline.
