Job summary

Commercial Metals LTD in Illinois is seeking a maintenance technician to repair, modify and install machinery, perform inspections, and support safety programs across our facilities.

You will work on diesel and hydraulic systems, endure outdoor conditions, and join a team with strong training and advancement opportunities; sign-on bonus offered and Day 1 benefits.

We value teamwork, problem solving, and the ability to work overtime; prior heavy-industrial experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in heavy industrial environment.
• Must communicate technically, orally and written.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Proficient with hand/power/precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and upholds safety culture.
• Modify, repair and install machinery and equipment per CMC Policies.
• Conduct inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Repair hydraulic and electrical systems as assigned.
• Train to perform industrial mechanical repairs and learn hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Work as part of the maintenance team.
• Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on fleet trucks and trailers, including diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
