Job summary

Equipment Depot is seeking a field service technician to repair electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and construction equipment in Odessa, TX. You will read work orders, diagnose issues, and perform mechanical repairs after thorough inspections, while communicating repair status to customers and logging accurate records.

The role requires a GED or high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate or GED.
Experience: 1–3 months related experience or training.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of internet software.
Certificates & Licenses: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Language: Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; write routine reports; speak before groups.

Responsibilities

Reads work orders and observes the truck in operation to diagnose malfunctions.
Offers solutions and provides estimates when appropriate.
Performs mechanical repairs after inspection and analysis.
Records repair descriptions, model, serial number, and hour meter readings.
Communicates with customers about repair needs and completed work.
Examines guards, bolts, and safety devices and makes adjustments.
Lubricates moving parts and tests repaired trucks for conformance.
Represents Equipment Depot to customers and maintains professional appearance of the van.
Tracks service needs and communicates with operations or service manager.
Ensures safe work practices to protect customers, Equipment Depot, and the public.
Submits time cards daily by 9:00 a.m.
