Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a leading aerospace engine innovator, seeks a senior Industrial Engineer to drive enterprise-wide improvements across manufacturing and assembly facilities. You will study product requirements, determine staffing, and lead data-driven initiatives to boost OEE and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience; or Master's Degree with 7+ years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and iteration of enterprise-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally to embed Industrial Engineering tools and processes in manufacturing or assembly facilities.
  • Study product requirements and determine capital equipment and labor staffing to meet requirements.
  • Conduct machine capacity analysis and identify/manage improvement initiatives to increase efficiency (OEE).
  • Conduct labor capacity analysis and identify/manage improvement initiatives to increase efficiency (OLE).
  • Develop methods to increase productivity, maximize efficiency and manage human capital more effectively.
  • Recommend capital investment strategy to meet product delivery and cost targets.
  • Evaluate the effects of schedule and product design changes.
  • Design layouts of equipment and workspace and improving process flow.
  • Participating in and leading Kaizen events

Core Industrial Engineering Team

The Core Industrial Engineering team functions as the IE “homeroom” at Pratt & Whitney. We work to create the methods and standards for our Industrial Engineering teams to follow, as well as develop and lead initiatives across the company to improve operations, assembly, test, etc. As part of this team, you will be working across Pratt & Whitney to strengthen the Industrial Engineering discipline and deepen our use of IE and lean manufacturing methodologies.

What You Will Do

Qualifications

You Must Have: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 10+ years of prior relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering, or Operations improvement or Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Management and minimum 7 years’ experience US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in‑person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on‑site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
