Job summary

Corning Incorporated invites students to join its summer internship program in Industrial Engineering at Painted Post, NY. You will apply Lean concepts to improve product and information flow, reduce inventory, meet delivery targets, and increase capacity.

Qualifications

Candidate is enrolled in an Industrial Engineering degree program.
Interest in applying industrial engineering skills: capacity analysis, cost modeling, facility layout development, logistics, process simulation.
Interest in applying Lean concepts and principles: cycle time reduction, value stream mapping, line balance, work cell design.

Responsibilities

Engage with manufacturing or innovation teams to understand workflow and feasibility of proposed solutions.
Apply industrial engineering analysis to deliver results including capacity analysis and Lean manufacturing.
Complete observations and data analysis, write summaries, and make recommendations.
Present results to engineering and manufacturing teams.
