Optimal is seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern to support manufacturing improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost by assisting with data analysis, process observations, and continuous improvement across plant operations.

You will collect and analyze production data, observe workflows, document processes, participate in waste elimination using lean principles, and support time studies, motion analysis, and standardized work reviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years related experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting and analyzing production and process data.
• Observe operations and document current processes and workflow.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and record improvement ideas.
• Assist with time studies and standardized work reviews.
• Provide technical and analytical support to plant teams.
• Support plant layout activities using AutoCAD.
