The Salisbury Shop Engineering Internship at Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. offers students hands-on experience supporting engineering, fabrication, machining, and repair operations within the company's sole crusher repair facility.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Automation Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, or perform physical activities for extended periods as required.
• Ability to wear required PPE in operational areas.

Responsabilidades

• Follow and promote safety, environmental, and ethical standards in all work activities.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives and support a culture of safety excellence.
• Identify and assist with projects that improve facility and process safety and 5S.
• Identify and scope projects which increase automated processes in mechanic, welding, machining, and warehousing operations.
• Record and develop work instructions for our common repair processes.
• Assist in the transition of our quality control processes from paper to digital.
• Gain hands-on experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and vision measuring systems.
• Observe and support CNC machining and CNC cutting processes within the manufacturing environment.
• Gain exposure to welding operations and machine assembly/disassembly activities.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, fabrication, machining, and maintenance teams to support operational objectives.
• Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a strong work ethic while working independently and as part of a team.
