Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly experienced Industrial Engineer to support Power & Controls sites, leading enterprise improvements and mentoring early-career engineers. This onsite role spans Rockford IL, Windsor Locks CT, Phoenix AZ, Charlotte NC, and West Des Moines IA, with relocation assistance provided.

The IE will drive capacity maturity, lean initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration with SIOP and master scheduling, using SAP and Kinaxis for simulations and signaling.

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the IE SME and lead trainer for all Power & Controls Industrial Engineers, including SAP problem-solving, capacity tool ownership, and skill matrix maturity advancement.
  • Lead standardization and improvement of machine capacity maturity across all P&C sites.
  • Partner with SIOP and master scheduling to integrate RCCP processes and ensure accurate signaling for schedule simulations through SAP and Kinaxis.
  • Provide CORE engagement support, including travel across P&C sites to lead improvement events and mentor new event leaders.
  • Drive and transition digital and advanced manufacturing initiatives from implementation to leveraging data for performance improvements and enhanced operational visualization.
  • Utilize lean tools and methodologies to minimize waste and drive measurable performance improvements across manufacturing processes.

The Power & Controls SBU is seeking a highly experienced Industrial Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert supporting all P&C sites. This Level 4 role is designed for a seasoned IE who excels in technical leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and driving enterprise‑level performance improvements. The Industrial Engineer will act as an indirect working leader for early‑career engineers, a key trainer for core processes, and a project manager for strategic initiatives impacting manufacturing performance, digital maturity, and operational excellence.

This position is onsite at one of our Power and Controls sites: Rockford - IL or Windsor Lock - CT, or Phoenix - AZ, or Charlotte - NC, or West Des Moines - IA.

Relocation assistance will be provided.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as the IE SME and lead trainer for all Power & Controls Industrial Engineers, including SAP problem-solving, capacity tool ownership, and skill matrix maturity advancement.
  • Lead standardization and improvement of machine capacity maturity across all P&C sites.
  • Partner closely with SIOP and master scheduling to integrate Rough Cut Capacity (RCCP) processes and ensure accurate signaling for schedule simulations through SAP and Kinaxis.
  • Provide CORE engagement support, including travel across P&C sites to lead improvement events and mentor new event leaders.
  • Drive and transition digital and advanced manufacturing initiatives (RTLS, enterprise andon, etc.) from implementation to leveraging data for performance improvements and enhanced operational visualization.
  • Utilize lean tools and methodologies to minimize waste and drive measurable performance improvements across manufacturing processes.
  • Modify and optimize Industrial Engineering processes to enhance effectiveness and scalability across the SBU.
  • Influence and guide a team of early‑career Industrial Engineers to ensure initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with site and SBU goals.
  • Establish methods to maximize utilization of production facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Collaborate vertically and horizontally across the business to reduce days-to-manufacture, increase throughput, and improve efficiency.
Qualifications You Must Have

  • Experience leveraging influencing, interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to drive results.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
