Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Door Group in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Senior Industrial Engineer to drive continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing sites. You will lead Kaizen events, map value streams, and push cost reductions and standardization for region4 operations.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing, a strong Lean background with CI tools, and the ability to influence at all levels. On-site work and up to 75% travel are expected, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Proven multi-site efficiency and CI initiatives.
  • Lean Manufacturing and CI tools experience; Kaizen leadership.
  • Cost savings, productivity, and operational improvements track record.
  • On-floor presence with ability to influence at all levels; strong communication.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and process optimization across sites.
  • Provide multi-site IE support to improve throughput and layout.
  • Identify and drive cost reductions and productivity opportunities.
  • Develop and deploy standardized work; coach teams on Lean practices.
  • Evaluate processes and recommend equipment and layout improvements.
  • Support CAPEX projects from justification to implementation.
  • Maintain Gemba presence and partner with site leaders for sustainable improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and ensure policy compliance.
  • Travel 50–75% to support regional initiatives.

Are you a seasoned Industrial Engineer with a passion for driving continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing sites? The ASSA ABLOY Door Group is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to support our growing Region4 operations. This role will play a critical part in advancing operational excellence, cost reduction, and process standardization across multiple locations. This position will be based on‑site at our Phoenix, Arizona regional manufacturing facility (or Service Center). What will you do as our Senior Industrial Engineer?
  • Lead Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and process optimization projects across multiple sites
  • Provide multi‑site Industrial Engineering support, improving throughput, efficiency, material flow, and layout
  • Identify and drive cost reduction and productivity opportunities across labor, material, and capital investments
  • Support and lead standardized work development and deployment, coaching teams on Lean principles and best practices
  • Evaluate current processes and recommend equipment, tooling, and layout improvements to increase capacity and efficiency
  • Partner on CAPEX projects, including justification, equipment selection, layout design, and implementation support
  • Maintain a strong Gemba presence, working directly with operators, supervisors, and site leaders to drive sustainable operational improvements
  • Support cross‑functional collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies, AADG programs, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel 50–75% to support regional initiatives and site needs

The Skills and Experience you need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proven experience driving multi‑site efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools, including Kaizen events and project leadership
  • Demonstrated success driving cost savings, productivity improvements, and operational efficiencies
  • Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor and influencing at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities across sites
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience supporting fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, or similar manufacturing processes preferred
