Industrial Engineer, Project Engineering
Location: USA – Lancaster, Midpoint Dr. Division: Solutions. Time Type: Full Time.
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing common contract logistics processes and driving continuous performance improvement. This role also provides engineering support for new expansions, user training, and facilitates continuous improvement initiatives across facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research & Analysis: Examine system functionality (warehouse management, labor management, slotting, reporting). Use work measurement techniques and analyze data to develop labor utilization standards. Conduct cost/benefit studies and develop ROI business cases for process or technology changes. Forecast facility, vehicle, staffing, and material handling needs; analyze production costs and workflow to recommend efficient operations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document standard procedures, review data to address operational gaps, identify improvement areas.
- Communication: Present improvement opportunities, define key metrics, develop training materials.
- Relationships: Assemble cross‑functional teams, support labor management programs, align operations policies.
- LEAN Operations: Facilitate LEAN methodology, employ statistical tools, maintain expertise in Six Sigma DMAIC, value‑stream mapping, 5S. Organize Kaizen events, sustainability audits, and produce case studies of improvement outcomes.
- Project Management: Develop and roll out growth strategies and projects, track actions, assess feasibility considering costs, space, schedules, goals, and economic factors. Lead vendors on approved designs.
OTHER VALUED PROFICIENCIES
- Solution Design: Identify and procure capital expenses, understand Solutions Model, participate in “DSV Quality Planning,” validate design agreements, partner with HR, IT, Operations to develop SOPs, and provide actionable items to Project Management.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 5–7 years of industrial engineering experience in supply chain, warehouse, or similar environment.
- Experience in retail distribution support and/or e‑commerce environments.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel.
- Insight into Warehouse Management Systems.
- Knowledge of engineering and software design tools, AutoCAD (must), MS Project, Visio, simulation, and analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx.
Certificates & Licenses
Mathematical Skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency.
Language Skills
- English: reading, writing, verbal.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and writing skills for all levels.
Other Skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- E‑commerce implementation experience.
- Experience with Pick to Light, Automated Sortation, Voice Pick, conveyor design, LMS.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Exceptional analytical skills and project management experience.
- Presentation skills for managers and executives.
- Adaptability to temperature variations and willingness to work overtime when required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Industrial Engineering degree preferred.
- Green Belt Six Sigma / Lean Certified.
- Experience with end users, vendors, and clients.
- Experience in a 3PL environment.
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Hands used for handling objects, tools, and controls; reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Use computer and telephone equipment. Vision: close and distance. Lift up to 40 lbs. Stand for up to 8 hours per day.

BASE PAY
Expected base pay: $135,000.00 – $145,000.00 annually, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location, and other objective considerations.
