Job summary

Continental in Sumter, South Carolina seeks an experienced Industrial Engineer to improve manufacturing efficiency and drive continuous improvement across the plant floor. The role emphasizes time studies, capacity planning, and value-stream optimization, requiring a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, with unrestricted US work authorization.

Applicants will analyze loss data, benchmark KPIs, and lead improvement projects using CBS tools while adhering to safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering (excluding internships).
• U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship for this opening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct time studies, maintain standards, and analyze loss data (OEE/TEEP).
• Support material flow, lead time, and job evaluation studies.
• Benchmark KPIs against other plants.
• Collect and prepare data for capacity planning, debottlenecking, and strategic projects.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and calculate potential savings.
• Facilitate value stream exercises, improvement projects, and workshops.
• Define machine and process parameters with production and engineering.
• Plan and implement improvement projects ensuring CBS tools are applied.
• Conduct shop-floor improvement workshops and support SOP development.
• Participate in business team meetings, performance goal setting, and standard implementation.
• Follow all plant, ESH, CBS, quality, and department processes and procedures.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or other related field
• 5 or more years experience working in Industrial Engineering (does not include internships)
