Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are seeking two experienced Industrial Engineers to support manufacturing efficiency and process optimization initiatives for a leading pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing operation in Jayuya, Puerto Rico.

The selected professionals will evaluate, analyze, and improve manufacturing processes, including filling, sealing, printing, packaging, and other related production operations. This role will focus on identifying improvement opportunities, reducing inefficiencies, strengthening process performance, and supporting the implementation of sustainable operational excellence initiatives.

The ideal candidates will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, hands-on manufacturing experience, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze filling, sealing, printing, packaging, and other manufacturing operations.
  • Collect, monitor, and analyze operational, business, and quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process optimization and efficiency initiatives using Lean, Operational Excellence, and Process Excellence methodologies.
  • Lead or support cross-functional and multilevel technical teams in the execution of improvement projects.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement tools, and risk management practices to assigned projects.
  • Monitor critical-to-quality and critical-to-business performance indicators.
  • Prepare and present project findings, recommendations, business cases, and improvement opportunities to different levels of the organization.
  • Quantify potential improvements related to productivity, quality, cost reduction, capacity, cycle time, and operational performance.
  • Support the implementation, monitoring, and sustainability of approved process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Calibration, and Operational Excellence teams.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, data analysis, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure that all improvement initiatives comply with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least three years of experience evaluating and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, or similarly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing production data, operational trends, process performance, and quality indicators.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, or Process Excellence methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to lead or collaborate with cross‑functional technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and present technical findings and business recommendations.
  • Availability to work on-site in Jayuya, Puerto Rico.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with filling, sealing, printing, packaging, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, root cause analysis, standard work, and waste reduction.
  • Experience developing business cases and presenting improvement opportunities to management.
  • Knowledge of risk management and process improvement practices in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or formal training is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
