Qualifications

• Enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Interest in manufacturing processes, operations, and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor learning processes firsthand.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with time studies, labor studies, line balancing, and process observations to identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Support analysis and improvement of manufacturing layouts, workflows, material flow, and workstation ergonomics.
• Collect, organize, and analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, waste, and process improvement opportunities.
• Help create and update work instructions, SOPs, standard work, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with establishing and maintaining labor standards, routings, bills of material, and other manufacturing data.
• Work with production and materials teams to evaluate material-handling and replenishment processes.
• Support visual factory and workplace-organization initiatives.
• Assist engineers with manufacturing problem-solving related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Participate in cross-functional manufacturing and process-improvement projects.
• Help evaluate manufacturing methods, fixtures, equipment, and potential process improvements.
• Provide hands-on support for special engineering and manufacturing projects as assigned.
