Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks an engineer to analyze and optimize operations and workflows for improved plant efficiency at our site. You will help establish safety measures and training programs while supporting cost, inventory, and production record systems.

A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required; a Master’s Degree is a plus. This on-site role offers opportunities to contribute to major naval programs and grow professionally.

Responsibilities

Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflows to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.
Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
May establish accident prevention measures and manage training programs for personnel.
Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production records systems.
Develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
