Job summary

Franklin Electric Co. in Wilburton, OK is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to investigate, develop, and implement methods for producing the right product, in the right quantity, at the lowest standard cost.

You will determine labor standards, facility layouts, process methods, ergonomic and cost improvements, manpower planning, and material handling and flow. This position emphasizes evaluating direct and indirect labor, supporting safety investigations, and interfacing with marketing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (required).
• 3-5+ years of related experience (required).
• Lean manufacturing, and Kaizen implementation experience (required).

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the direct labor content of manufacturing methods, using the appropriate work measurement techniques, to establish and maintain time standards.
• Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data from ergonomic evaluations to develop the lowest total cost solution.
• Helps lead safety investigations, focusing on root cause analysis and solutions.
• Evaluates indirect labor associated with direct labor operations, including setup, process maintenance, and material handling.
• Maintains plant and departmental layouts.
• Prepares the detailed operations planning and operator-oriented information system documents (terminal planning) necessary to interface operations with marketing, engineering, accounting, and data processing.
• Defines, specifies, quotes, orders, and implements material handling equipment.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

What you will be doing:

• Uses complex and noncomplex machines and equipment.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (required).
• 3-5+ years of related experience (required).
• Lean manufacturing, and Kaizen implementation experience (required).

Computer Skills

• Intermediate: CAD software, alphanumeric data entry, spreadsheet.
• Basic: Word processing/typing.
