Job summary

LISI AEROSPACE NORTH AMERICA is seeking an Industrial Engineer I to apply engineering principles to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and reduce costs in a production environment.

You will analyze processes, design efficient workflows, support safety and quality, troubleshoot equipment, and develop documentation and training for new procedures.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering applications.
  • Proficient in CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors operations with an eye toward improving productivity and efficiency.
  • Designs efficient production processes and workflows.
  • Ensures that processes are designed to ensure that products meet quality standards.
  • Reduces waste and addresses production issues.
  • Performs technical troubleshooting including but not limited to PLCs, controls, safety devices, sensors, etc.
  • Evaluates data to implement technological improvements in production processes.
  • Fabricates parts when required.
  • Identifies potential locations and determines facility design.
  • Works with other departments to develop design and production standards.
  • Designs facility layout and personnel requirements in relation to production operations.
  • Helps to develop instruction manuals for production personnel.
  • Ensures that work processes are safe and addresses safety issues and concerns.

Job description

Primary Summary

The Industrial Engineer I uses principles of technology and engineering to eliminate wasteful and inefficient processes in a production environment. Focus on reducing costs, promoting safety, utilizing efficient materials, and saving time and energy. Responsible for analyzing processes, determining areas of improvement, communicating effectively, creating documentation, and implementing training for new procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs efficient production processes and workflows.
  • Ensures that processes are designed to ensure that products meet quality standards.
  • Reduces waste and addresses production issues.

Education and/or Experience
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and /or experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering applications.
  • Proficient in Computer Assisted Design (CAD).
Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access; CAD/CAM proficiency, SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry; apply fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle variables.

Physical Demands

Occasional standing, walking, sitting; use of hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch; lift up to 25 pounds; visual requirements – close, distance, color, peripheral, focus.

Environment, Health and Safety

Moderate noise level. Compliance with safety, environmental, hazardous materials regulations. PPE required in specified areas.

HSE Responsibilities
  • Respect and enforce health, safety, and environmental instructions (LISI golden rules).
  • Correct or report malfunctions or risky situations.
  • Implement preventive actions to reduce environmental footprint and control risks.
  • Participate in risk and incident analyses and HSE working groups as requested.
  • Be familiar with main health and safety risks and environmental impacts of scope.
  • Know site HSE policy and objectives.
  • Propose improvements to working conditions and reduce environmental impact.

Pay Range: $70-80K
