Job summary

Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. Headquartered in San Francisco, the company seeks a contract Industrial Engineer to evaluate AI-generated production plans and provide expert feedback.

You will work remotely for 20+ hours per week over a 4–6 week project, starting immediately. Responsibilities include assessing AI-generated plans, comparing responses for rigor and efficiency, and assisting with data quality to improve AI systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial/related engineering experience.
• Experience designing or evaluating integrated production systems including quality control and logistics.
• Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.
• Strong written English communication skills.

Position: Industrial Engineers
Type: Contract
Compensation: $70–$110/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: 4–6 weeks
Commitment: 20+ hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated production plans, process designs, and quality analyses for quality and accuracy.
• Compare AI-generated responses based on engineering rigor, process efficiency, and quality-control soundness.
• Review industrial engineering scenarios involving production sequencing, cost analysis, quality standards, and logistics coordination.
• Provide expert feedback to improve AI model performance and training data quality.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while enhancing AI systems.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• 4+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Process Engineer, Quality Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Operations Engineer, or another closely related industrial engineering role.
• Experience designing, developing, or evaluating integrated production systems including quality control, inventory control, logistics, cost analysis, or production coordination.
• Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.
• Strong written English communication skills.

• Task-based payment upon first task approval. Experts who complete their first task within the required timeline will then be qualified to be paid hourly for the remainder of the project.
