Eissmann-Group-Automotive in Troy, MI is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to optimize production processes, equipment, labor, and material flow. You will drive continuous improvement, support launches, and help achieve safety, quality, and cost targets.

Qualifications

  • Experience in process and product development (min. 1 year).
  • Automotive/Industrial/Mechanical exp. preferred.
  • Knowledge of Project Management & Product Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, and workflows to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish and maintain standardized work, process layouts, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Conduct time studies, work measurement, line balancing, and capacity analyses to establish labor and production requirements.
  • Evaluate equipment, tooling, workstation design, and manufacturing methods to improve process performance.
  • Support development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, material flow and manufacturing costs.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, value-stream) and analyze KPIs for gaps.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and resolve process-related issues.
  • Support APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan and other launch activities.
  • Develop and maintain plant layouts, line, workstation, and equipment layouts.
  • Analyze production capacity and identify equipment, labor, and space requirements.

Goal of the Working Position: Optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, labor, and material flow to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. The role develops and implements efficient production methods, drives continuous improvement, and supports successful launches and operational performance.

Most important task and responsibilities:

Process & Manufacturing Engineering

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, and workflows to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish and maintain standardized work, process layouts, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Conduct time studies, work measurement, line balancing, and capacity analyses to establish labor and production requirements.
  • Evaluate equipment, tooling, workstation design, and manufacturing methods to improve process performance.
  • Support development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, material flow and manufacturing costs.
  • Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, and value-stream improvement.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process-related issues.
  • Support Initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, downtime, labor costs, and other manufacturing inefficiencies.
Launch & Production Support
  • Support new product launches, engineering changes, production trails, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Develop and validate production capacity, staffing requirements, cycle times, and process flow for new program.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure successful implementation of manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and resolve manufacturing and process-related issues.
  • Support APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan and other applicable launch and quality activities
  • Develop and maintain plant, production line, workstation, and equipment layouts.
  • Analyze production capacity and identify equipment, labor, and space requirements.
  • Optimize material flow, workstation design, and production sequencing to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Cost & Performance Improvement:
Requirements

Automotive, Industrial, Mechanical, or General preferred.

Good MS Office knowledge; knowledge in Project Management & Product Engineering.

Experience in process and product development. Min. 1-year experience.
