Job summary

IET, Inc. in Toledo, OH seeks an experienced manufacturing/industrial engineer to support production improvements, data analysis, and workflow optimization across diverse industries.

You will conduct time and motion studies, map processes, develop standard work, and implement 5S/Kaizen initiatives while coordinating with operators and supervisors to ensure effective, measurable improvements.

Relocation to Toledo area may be required for full-time applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 2-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze production data to measure productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, and workflow performance.
• Conduct time and motion studies to identify delays, determine standard work times, and support labor standards development.
• Assist in process mapping and workflow documentation, creating diagrams, SOPs, and visual work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, and process optimization activities.
• Help develop and update work standards, including method sheets, job breakdowns, and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in layout planning by taking measurements, drafting basic layouts, and assisting with equipment moves or reconfiguration.
• Support quality and safety initiatives by collecting defect data, observing workstation ergonomics, and identifying potential issues.
• Prepare reports and documentation, summarizing observations, improvement opportunities, and study results for engineers and supervisors.
• Coordinate with operators and supervisors, communicating findings, gathering feedback, and ensuring accurate implementation of improvements.
