Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support automotive manufacturing at the Spring Hill Assembly Plant. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and overall manufacturing performance.

Key responsibilities include time studies, line balancing, and layout optimization using AutoCAD, with cross-functional collaboration across production, maintenance, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Process, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineer.
• Automotive industry experience is required.
• Background in supporting General Assembly production.
• Knowledge of continuous and process improvement, bottlenecks, time studies, and line layouts; familiar with GM systems.

Responsibilities

• Support General Assembly by identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize operations and throughput.
• Conduct time studies and labor analysis to evaluate workstation effectiveness, cycle times, and operator utilization.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and constraints affecting line performance and vehicle output.
• Develop and implement line balancing strategies to reduce downtime and meet takt times.
• Create, modify, and maintain manufacturing layouts using AutoCAD to improve material flow, ergonomics, and plant efficiency.
• Collaborate with production teams, manufacturing engineers, maintenance, quality, and union operators to troubleshoot issues and implement sustainable improvements.

Insight Global is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support one of our largest automotive clients at their Spring Hill Assembly Plant. This individual will work directly within the General Assembly organization and be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, and overall manufacturing performance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Support the General Assembly production area by identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize manufacturing operations and increase throughput.

Conduct detailed time studies and labor analysis to evaluate workstation effectiveness, cycle times, and operator utilization.

Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and constraints impacting line performance and vehicle output.

Develop and implement line balancing strategies to improve workflow, reduce downtime, and ensure operations consistently meet takt time requirements.

Create, modify, and maintain manufacturing layouts using AutoCAD and other engineering tools to improve material flow, ergonomics, and overall plant efficiency. Similar responsibilities have been performed by GM Industrial Engineers supporting production layouts and automation initiatives.
