Job summary

Hyve Solutions, a part of SYNNEX Corporation, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize production processes and lead time studies. You will analyze value-streams, reduce waste, and implement ergonomic workstation designs while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in industrial/process engineering, strong Lean/Six Sigma experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Jira, and PLM systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering.
  • Strong background in manufacturing processes, process improvement, and operational optimization.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Internships or Co-op experience in Industrial and Mechanical systems.

  • Layout changes using AutoCAD.
  • Ergonomics studies and workstation design.

  • Perform time studies with breakdown of value-added, non-value-added, and waste.
  • Train and assist equipment operators and maintenance technicians.
  • Review safety and quality standards to ensure proper manufacturing environment.

Industrial Engineer Role

This Industrial Engineer works with the extended industrial Engineer team to develop and improve production processes. This position will use good data collection and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot root causes. They will also assist with implementing corrective measures or improvements to the production processes. The individual should be proficient in time studies, layouts, and material flow.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Determine the capacity of production and process.
  • Improve production processes through the application of lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste, costs and increase quality.
  • Layout changes using AutoCAD.
  • Ergonomics studies and workstation design.
  • Understand and utilize 5S, 7 Waste, VSM, and Problem Solving.
  • Create and maintain Job Detail Records.
  • Perform time studies that include a detailed breakdown of value-added, non-value-added, and waste.
  • Train and assist equipment operators, and maintenance technicians in areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for reviewing safety and quality standards to ensure the manufacturing environment is properly meeting these guidelines.
  • Experience working on complex problems where analysis or data requires evaluation and identifiable factors and interacting with leadership on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Guide the completion of projects and conduct technical tasks and/or set specific technical strategy and direction for self-and/or others.
Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering Strong background in manufacturing processes, process improvement, and operational optimization. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred. Internships or Co-op experience in Industrial and Mechanical systems including packaging, layouts, conveying, and product handling.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Physical ability to work on and around industrial equipment, including occasional lifting to 50lbs. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of manufacturing systems Effective in time management and delegation. Skilled in debugging and root cause analysis Demonstrated knowledge of Lean philosophies and experienced in practicing those applications. Analytical and problem-solving skills Prior knowledge of using any ticket tracking system (i.e. Jira) Prior knowledge of using PLM system (i.e. Agile) would be a benefit Knowledge of manufacturing systems Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.) Proficient with AutoCAD

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Comfortable in a fast-moving business and team environment Excellent communication skills—written and verbal. Self-starter and highly motivated Capable of managing multiple projects. Attention to detail and highly motivated. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions

Fast paced work environment Certain areas are considered loud work environments and will require ear protection.

Physical Demands

Extensive use of computer equipment, and frequent telephone activity. Periods of extended sitting, walking, and standing are required. Activities such as bending and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by Company policy.
