Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense/interconnect/cable assembly preferred).
• Strong understanding of cable and wire harness manufacturing processes (crimping, soldering, termination, routing).
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, AS9100 or equivalent quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize production workflows, assembly line layouts, and manufacturing cell configurations to maximize throughput and minimize waste.
• Develop, document, and maintain standardized work instructions, process flows, cycle time studies, and labor routings for cable and wire harness operations.
• Conduct time and motion studies, capacity analyses, and value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks and drive measurable efficiency improvements.
• Lead Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives across production departments in collaboration with Operations and Quality teams.
• Partner with Engineering and Quality to ensure processes are producible, cost-effective, and compliant with AS9100 and IPC/WHMA-A-620.

Position Summary

As our Industrial Engineer, you will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across our cable and wire harness assembly operations. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where you will analyze production workflows, develop and implement process improvements, and support our mission to deliver the highest quality interconnect solutions to aerospace, defense, space, and industrial markets. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and establish best-in-class manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in industrial engineering principles, a working knowledge of cable and wire harness assembly environments, and the drive to make a measurable impact on the production floor. This position reports to Engineering Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 3+ years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within aerospace, defense, or interconnect/cable assembly industries.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes related to cable and wire harness assembly, including crimping, soldering, termination, and routing.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, AS9100, or similar quality and workmanship standards is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
• Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies, including time and motion studies, value stream mapping, and line balancing.
• Experience developing and maintaining work instructions, process flows, routings, tooling specifications, and assembly guides.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems (Syspro or similar) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable improvements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Production Planning to support capacity planning, scheduling, and material flow optimization.
• Identify and implement ergonomic improvements and workplace organization initiatives to promote safety, quality, and productivity on the production floor.
• Support the Company's mission, vision, values, and goals in the performance of daily activities.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency

Winchester Interconnect Corporation is committed to pay transparency. The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year plus 10% AIP. Exact salary will be contingent upon your experience, education, skills, and any other factors Winchester Interconnect Corporation considers relevant to the hiring decision.
