Job summary

Zing Recruiting is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join a growing manufacturing team in Dalton, GA. This direct-hire opportunity focuses on improving processes, increasing productivity, reducing costs, and supporting continuous improvement in a high-volume environment.

The candidate will conduct time studies, labor analyses, and capacity planning while leading Lean, Kaizen, and improvement projects. Automotive manufacturing background is preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline with 1+ years of experience; OR
• Associate degree with 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience; OR
• Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline with 3+ years of experience; OR
• 5+ years of relevant Industrial Engineering experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience with manufacturing process optimization and production support

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and production methods
• Conduct time studies, labor studies, and labor utilization analysis
• Develop labor standards and support staffing and production planning
• Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase throughput
• Design and optimize plant layouts, workstations, equipment placement, and material flow
• Support equipment installations, line balancing, capacity planning, and facility expansion
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement projects
• Identify opportunities to reduce labor, material, and equipment costs
• Analyze manufacturing data, KPIs, and operational metrics to improve productivity and efficiency
• Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, quality improvements, and process reliability
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Engineering teams
• Support new product launches, engineering changes, and manufacturing projects

Industrial Engineer Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline with 1+ years of experience; OR
• Associate degree with 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience; OR
• Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline with 3+ years of experience; OR
• 5+ years of relevant Industrial Engineering experience in lieu of a degree
• Previous Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Continuous Improvement experience
• Experience with manufacturing process optimization and production support
• Experience conducting time studies and labor analysis
• Experience with capacity planning, labor balancing, and productivity improvement
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with facility or plant layout and material flow optimization
• Proficiency with CAD software and layout development
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred
• Tier I automotive supplier experience is highly preferred
• Experience with Kaizen, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, or root cause analysis is preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD, Minitab, ERP systems, advanced Excel, or data analysis is preferred
• Experience supporting high-volume or highly automated manufacturing environments is preferred
