Job summary

KLA Industries in Cresco, IA is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement across manufacturing and office functions.

You will lead site-wide lean activities, develop capacity modeling and time standards, and mentor operators and technicians to improve productivity and flow. 5+ years IE and 3 years of management experience required; bachelor’s in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement site-wide lean activities (5S, standard work, visual management, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D) to eliminate waste and improve productivity.
• Foster the professional development of facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers.
• Lead the standardization and optimization of manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and product flow.
• Lead and track continuous improvement activities across all functional areas, including manufacturing and office operations.
• Develop detailed project plans, drive project performance, and ensure timely completion of improvement projects and savings goals.
• Develop, design, and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
• Serve as a key owner and stakeholder for equipment capital expenditures, including design, vendor selection, procurement, and implementation.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Site Leadership Team to develop a continuous improvement roadmap focused on best-in-class performance.
• Lead the creation and enhancement of capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards.
• Provide direction to operators and technicians while supporting their development and performance.
• Perform industrial engineering data collection, root cause analysis, and practical problem-solving to address operational issues.

Job description

Join a manufacturing team where continuous improvement, lean principles, and process optimization are central to improving productivity and operational performance. This role is ideal for an experienced Industrial Engineer who can identify issues affecting product flow, eliminate process bottlenecks, reduce works in progress, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and office functions.

In this role, you will provide leadership and direction to operators and technicians while developing their capabilities and performance. You will also help foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the facility.
