Industrial Energy Auditor (Part-Time/Hourly/Remote, Pennsylvania)

Are you an industrial energy auditor with experience performing onsite energy assessments in industrial facilities? We need you. We are interested in hiring an expert who can leverage their technical expertise to perform onsite industrial energy audits at manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania. This is a remote, on-call role offering flexibility from zero to 30+ hours per week. Geographic proximity to Pennsylvania is required for onsite assessments.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conduct energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) assessments at industrial facilities.
  • Identify energy and GHG saving opportunities for manufacturing clients.
  • Develop analysis and savings calculations for industrial energy projects.
  • Define and manage technical metrics to evaluate program and project performance.
  • Support in developing industrial decarbonization programs, especially for energy-intensive industries and small/medium facilities.
  • Provide technical assessments and recommendations to aid project success.
  • Deliver outputs aligned with ICF and client standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in energy engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience conducting industrial energy assessments.
  • Strong understanding of industrial research topics, technical challenges, and market trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within Pennsylvania using a reliable vehicle; reimbursement for mileage will be provided.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful pass of MVR check.
  • Proficiency in energy-intensive processes (e.g., process heating, motor systems, boilers, heat recovery, compressed air, HVAC), decarbonization technologies, and energy efficiency best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in related engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Certifications such as CEM, 50001 Lead Auditor, CMVP, PMVE, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and familiarity with statistical techniques.
  • Knowledge of EPA Climate Partnership Programs.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • DOE Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) graduate.

Pay Range

The salary for this position ranges from $87,069 to $148,017 based on experience, skills, and location.
