Job summary

Precision Fabrics Group in Vinton, VA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic - Electronics to keep our manufacturing equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. This hands-on role requires troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electronic systems across our plant.

You will read schematics and wiring diagrams, use meters and test equipment, and work with PLCs and drives to diagnose and repair issues.

Qualifications

3+ years of industrial maintenance experience with significant electrical/electronic troubleshooting.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment using meters and other test equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
Experience with industrial controls, motors, drives, and control systems.
Basic-to-intermediate experience with PLCs and AC variable-frequency drives/inverters.
Diagnose problems, determine repairs, and safely return equipment to service.
Work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
Strong commitment to safety and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and electronic equipment.
Diagnose problems using testing equipment, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
Repair circuits, boards, controls, power supplies, amplifiers, drives, and other components.
Work with PLCs, AC inverters, electronic drives, and industrial controls.
Install, program, and maintain electronic equipment.
Perform preventive and major maintenance on electronic systems.
Analyze equipment problems and determine the best repair approach.
Fabricate or modify parts using machine shop tools when needed.
Respond to maintenance work orders and minimize downtime.
Recommend improvements to increase reliability and reduce interruptions.
