Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Industrial Electronic Electrician to install, maintain, test and repair electrical/electronic controls on manufacturing tools and equipment in our San Diego area facility.

You will work with schematics, blueprints, and electrical codes to diagnose and improve control systems, including circuit cards and basic PLC programming. The role requires knowledge of NEC/California Electrical Code, safe work practices, and the ability to operate hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical and electronic trouble shooting, installation, and repair.
• Knowledge of motor controls, ladder logic, and PLCs.
• The ability to run conduit of all sizes.
• Ability to work at heights and operate forklifts/mane lifts.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic controls of manufacturing tools and equipment.
• Use schematics, blueprints and electrical codes to perform work and document it.
• Repair or modify printed circuit cards and program computer controls for production equipment.
• Ensure safe work practices per NEC and company procedures.
