Job summary
Shaw Industries in Cartersville, GA is seeking a Weekend Industrial Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve electrical and control systems that support manufacturing operations.
You will work with motors, drives, MCCs, PLCs, robotics, and automation equipment, following OSHA, NEC, and NFPA 70E safety standards to keep production reliable and safe, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Safety procedures: LOTO, Arc Flash, PPE requirements.
- Reading electrical and mechanical schematics and documentation.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
Responsibilities
- Maintain electrical and automation systems on manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, control, and process-related issues.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
- Support equipment upgrades, installations, and reliability projects.
- Assist with planning, documentation, and CMMS work orders.

Industrial Electrician- Weekend
Position Purpose
This Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical and control systems that support manufacturing operations. This role helps ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment performance while supporting production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Electrician is expected to perform assigned duties with a strong focus on:
- Safe work practices following OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and facility safety requirements
- High-quality workmanship delivered with a customer-service mindset
- Compliance with established maintenance standards and best practices
- Continuous development of technical skills and equipment knowledge
- Effective communication regarding troubleshooting findings, repair needs, and improvement opportunities
- Supporting teamwork and collaboration across maintenance and operations
Perform maintenance, repair, and installation activities on a variety of manufacturing equipment and systems, including:
- Motors and motor controls
- Electrical distribution systems
- MCCs, drives, inverters, converters, and reactors
- PLCs and industrial control systems
- Robotics and automation equipment
- Facility electrical systems
Diagnose and resolve electrical, control, and process-related equipment issues affecting safety, quality, or production.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Perform testing and verification of repairs
- Document findings and recommend improvements
Support and execute maintenance activities designed to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspections and tasks
- Repair or replace components based on equipment condition
- Assist with maintenance planning and documentation updates
- Use CMMS systems to manage work orders and maintenance records
Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and reliability initiatives.

- Technical school, apprenticeship, military, or vocational training in electrical systems
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, robotics, automation, or industrial control systems
