Job summary

Golden State Water Company in Santa Maria, CA, is seeking a skilled electrical technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems up to 600V within a water utility setting. You will work with SCADA equipment, PLCs, and NEC-compliant controls to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent and at least three years of field experience. Some travel and emergency response duties may be involved.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience installing, maintaining and operating industrial electrical systems up to 600V.
• Knowledge of SCADA equipment and industrial control systems in a water utility.
• Ability to perform load, wire sizing and breaker sizing calculations.
• Understanding of ladder logic and PLC operation with safety and NEC compliance.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, operates, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical equipment up to 600V.
• Supports SCADA and industrial control systems, verifying proper operation.
• Reviews and reports on electrical project status; assists CAD/as-builts.
• Ensures NEC compliance and regulatory standards; participates in safety meetings.
• Oversees conduit bending, wire pulling and related tasks; travels as needed.
• Responds to emergencies; supports cost data and progress reporting.
