Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Grenville, NM is seeking an Electrical Technician to plan, lay out, install, test, and repair wiring, fixtures, motors, equipment and control systems in accordance with plans, codes and industry standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior experience in the field
• Working knowledge and abilities for the position
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with supervision
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently

Responsibilities

• Interprets drawings, sketches, software, plans and determines best procedures, tools and equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit; welds supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations
• Installs control and distribution apparatus and fastens in place
• Tests and starts up systems and continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components
• Observes functioning of installed equipment to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
• May pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
• Work with high and low voltage systems
• Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems
• Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power tools, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical tools
