Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an experienced Electrical technician to plan, lay out, install, test and repair wiring, fixtures, motors and control systems in accordance with plans and codes. The role requires reading drawings and working with both high and low voltage systems.

The position emphasizes safe practices, tool use, and the ability to work outdoors and at heights. Candidates should have related field experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Commonly requires a high school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
• Must possess working knowledge and ability for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Interprets drawings, sketches, software, plans and determines best work procedures, tools, and equipment for troubleshooting and repair.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit; welds supports; installs cable and duct banks; makes terminations.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus and secures in place.
• Tests and starts up systems and checks circuit continuity for safety and compatibility.
• Observes operation of installed equipment to assess hazards and need for adjustments or replacements.
• May pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Works with high and low voltage systems.
• Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems.
