Job summary

Interfor in Swainsboro, GA is seeking an Industrial Electrician to maintain and optimize electrical and control systems for our sawmill operations. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and support continuous improvement in safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or a related technical degree.
• Commitment to workplace safety in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle varying shifts.
• Overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-ins may be required.
• Sawmill, lumber, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the mill.
• Read electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, AC drives, motors, and other control systems.
• Diagnose electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures before work begins.
• Plan and manage work assignments with minimal supervision.
• Submit work orders detailing work performed, parts used, and time required.
