Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc in Springfield, MA is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to maintain and repair large-scale packaging plant equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and support safety and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize uptime.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, 480V three‑phase system expertise, and MA electrical licensure.

Qualifications

3–5 years of Industrial Electrician experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with 480V three‑phase systems and various control voltages.
Proficiency with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters).
Expert knowledge of electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and PLC/VFD programming skills.
Massachusetts Electrical license or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical industrial equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on motors, MCCs, transformers, switches, and wiring.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in large production machinery (corrugators, presses).
Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs and HMIs; install and calibrate sensors and instruments.
Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and company standards; adhere to LOTO safety.
Keep maintenance records and assist with new equipment installations.
