Reading Truck is seeking a skilled Electrician in Houston, TX to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of electrical systems in industrial equipment. You will work from graphs, prints and PLC-based systems, ensuring compliance with NEC and company standards.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy reading diagrams, and collaboration with coworkers to minimize downtime on production lines and equipment.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with methods, equipment and materials used in the electrical trade.
• General knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Understanding of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Principles of electronic theory as applied to electrical circuits and equipment.
• Theory of operation and use of PLC units and other computer-based equipment.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze situations and choose effective actions.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings and sketches.
• Ability to work independently with little direction.
• Ability to build cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to install, program, and troubleshoot PLC based equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair and overhaul electromechanical and electrical equipment using a variety of tools and test equipment.
• Install new electrical equipment according to the National Electrical Code and company standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
• Read diagrams and prints and update them with changes.
• Comply with lockout/tagout, safety and environmental regulations.
• Work safely and cooperatively with co-workers.
