Job summary

Generon Igs in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, test and repair industrial electrical systems and controls. The role requires reading schematics and drawings, diagnosing issues, and performing work safely and efficiently.

Qualified candidates will have 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience, a Journeyman license, and strong knowledge of PLCs, controls and automation.

Qualifications

• Licensed electrician with journeyman certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of industrial or commercial electrical installation experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, circuitry, PLCs and automation.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely use electrical testing and calibration equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs and GA drawings.
• Plan and execute electrical layouts, including cable tray and conduit routing.
• Determine materials and sizing for installations.
• Wire and assemble control panels and install systems and components.
• Install, route and maintain cable trays, conduits and cables.
• Test electrical safety, calibrate and verify operation of systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in industrial machinery and control systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow OSHA requirements.
