Job summary

Silgan Containers Manufacturing Corporation in Menomonie, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician / PLC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. You will program, troubleshoot, and maintain Allen Bradley PLC systems, including VFDs and 4-20 mA circuits, in a high-speed environment.

The role starts at $36.02–$38.44 per hour with shift differential and a $7,500 sign-on bonus. Night shift training followed by a night schedule offers additional differential and benefits.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and detailed circuit layouts.
• Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware and software.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits and 440 MCCs.
• Experience with VFD installation and programming.
• Knowledge of process controls, including sensors, switches, valves, and safety circuits.
• Experience programming with Logix 5, Logix 500, and Studio 5000.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and create electrical blueprints, schematics, and detailed circuit layouts.
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Allen Bradley PLC systems, including VFDs and 4-20 mA circuits.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and operational problems using advanced problem-solving techniques.
• Install and wire motors, switch panels, fuse boxes, power circuits, and related electrical equipment.
• Work with servo motor systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and vacuum systems.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot VFDs and process control equipment.
• Work with sensors, switches, valves, safety circuits, and other automated controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and keep equipment operating reliably.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Help optimize equipment performance and support continuous improvement throughout the plant.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safe work practices and electrical safety.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent and trade school certification.
• 5+ years of experienceas an industrial electrician or electrician programmer.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
