Job summary

M+A Matting is seeking an electrician for our production facility to install, repair, and maintain electrical and control systems on the manufacturing floor. You will troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, and VFDs while following safety procedures to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, wiring control panels, upgrading circuits, and coordinating with other departments to ensure efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year related experience or training or equivalent
• Prefer Electrician's License but not mandatory
• Read and interpret electrical control and mechanical drawings and service manuals
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and ability to read and program code
• Knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, hydraulics and pneumatics

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots 480VAC 3 phase motor control circuits.
• Troubleshoots industrial control circuits.
• Modifies circuits in industrial machines and systems.
• Changes all size motors from fractional to 300 HP.
• Troubleshoots PLC systems.
• Installs control systems for rebuilds or new systems.
• Installs and tests Ethernet networks.
• Troubleshoots and installs VFD motor controls.
• Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
• Replaces fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
• Follows safety rules and observes operations for a safe environment.
• Reads and interprets electrical and mechanical drawings and service manuals for all equipment.
• Repairs equipment back to service during emergency breakdowns.
