Job summary

AVL Manufacturing is expanding with a new U.S. facility in Charlotte, NC and seeks an experienced Electrician to install, test, and service industrial electrical equipment.

You will read drawings, install wiring, test circuits, and support PLC programs at a basic level in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate has a Red Seal or equivalent interprovincial certification, 5+ years in industry, and is willing to travel across North America.

Qualifications

• Qualified Industrial Electrician with interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal 309A or 442A).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
• PLC programming skills (basic level).
• Ability to travel within North America with a valid passport and driver’s license.
• Power & Energy / Oil & Gas experience in an electrical engineering environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and electrical code specifications to plan installations.
• Install, examine, replace or repair wiring, switch boxes, conduits, lighting and other components.
• Test electrical equipment for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintain and repair switchgear, transformers, regulators and electrical control systems.
• Modify, maintain, test and document PLC programs at a basic level.
• Provide Engineering Department feedback via written change requests.
• Perform on-site installation, servicing and repair for commissioning or warranty work.
