Job summary

Ardagh Group is seeking an Electrician Automation Specialist to maintain and repair electrical systems across the facility, with duties spanning wiring, PLC troubleshooting, and installation on energized circuits. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and working in varied temperatures and noisy surroundings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• PLC and PC knowledge required.
• Journeyman level Electrician experience.
• Experience in industrial control, lighting, and wiring.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
• Must be able to lift twenty pounds.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Must be able to work around machinery with moving parts.
• Must be able to work around moving parts or vehicles.
• Must be able to work around excessive noise, continuous.
• Must be able to work around slippery and uneven walking surfaces such as climbing ladders and inclines.

Responsibilities

• Experience in industrial control AC/DC, lighting, wiring, single and three phase 480 power.
• Write and troubleshoot PLC coding using RS Logix and/or Automation Builder.
• Analyze drawings and specifications.
• Receive and inspect wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications to resolve electrical needs.
• Plan and perform work on energized circuits.
• Connect all types of electrical equipment for new installations.
• Plan and perform skilled soldering repairs, installation, and calibration of thermocouple and pyrometer-controlled systems.
