Job summary

APTIM Corp. seeks an experienced industrial electrician for a hands-on role in building control and motor control panels, mounting to skids, and conduit runs. You will read diagrams, splice wires, install panels, and test circuits with instruments, complying with safety standards.

Two+ years in electrical fieldwork, familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70E codes, and ability to work independently are required. Typical shifts are 10-hour days, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years of field experience as an industrial electrician.
• Skilled with hand and power tools; familiar with 480V/120V/24V power and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work independently.
• Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E codes.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sketches showing wiring location or follow diagrams to install wiring in enclosed areas.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit using hacksaw and conduit benders.
• Pull wiring through conduit with helper.
• Splice wires according to company and customer requirements.
• Connect wiring to equipment using hand tools.
• Install control and distribution apparatus and secure with crews or bolts.
• Connect power cables and install grounding leads.
• Test continuity of circuits with ohmmeter and oscilloscope.
• Observe equipment to determine needs for adjustments or replacement.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment.
• Load, transport and unload materials and tools.
