Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is seeking a maintenance technician in Fontana, CA to oversee preventive maintenance and repair of automated and non-automated equipment. You will support site operations and assist plant personnel as needed with skilled use of tools and safety-conscious practices.

The role requires PLC/robotics experience, CMMS familiarity, and the ability to work independently or in a team. Lift up to 70 lbs, read manuals, and troubleshoot to ensure reliable production line

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in training or experience.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions.
• PLC and robotics maintenance experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, carpentry, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of CMMS system and its function.
• Communication skills.
• Be able to work with a team or independently.
• Lift tools, machinery parts, and other objects which could weigh up to 70 lbs. each.

Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, repair and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical production equipment, and special purpose machines as assigned
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned
• Welding, torching, and light machining as required
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures
• Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and follow through with these repairs to assure proper operation of equipment in a safe, timely manner
• Install equipment and/or electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning
• Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
• Replace and install parts as needed
• Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
