Job summary

General Motors is seeking a qualified Industrial Electrician Journeyperson in Wisconsin to perform layout, installation, repair and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment and control systems under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include following OSHA safety procedures, maintaining and repairing equipment, analyzing malfunctions, reading drawings, performing preventative maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement with other departments.

Qualifications

• Six years of related experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade.
• Must be able to pass GM hiring process including assessments, drug testing and background check.
• Must be 18+ years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including overtime, days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment.
• Analyze and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and diagnose problems quickly to avoid production delays.
• Perform electrical preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings and wiring schematics.
• Promote teamwork across departments and participate in continuous improvement.
