Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Industrial Plasters in Blue Rapids, Kansas seeks an Industrial Electrician to maintain electrical systems, troubleshoot equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and support safe operations.

You'll work a 12-hour rotating shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.), with on-call responsibilities as needed. Starting pay is $33.60 per hour plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Join a team focused on safety and reliability at the Blue Rapids facility.

Qualifications

• Electrical maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic equipment, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Performing routine and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery internal and external to the plant and inspecting equipment for potential downtime causes.
• Installing new equipment.
• Recording maintenance and repairs in a computerized maintenance management system (MP2 / SAP) and completing reports and work orders on time to keep accurate records.
• Collaborating with operations to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
• Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures including performing proper lockout/tag out procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
• Cleaning up all areas of responsibility to maintain a safe work environment.
• Working in a team environment with fellow employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Assisting Process Controls Engineers and Maintenance Technicians as needed

Job description

Our Georgia-Pacific Industrial Plasters facility located in Blue Rapids, Kansas is seeking motivated, safety-oriented individuals to join our Maintenance team as an Industrial Electrician. As an Electrician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our facility. This position adds value by identifying and correcting electrical issues before they lead to equipment failure or production downtime. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and completing both scheduled and emergency repairs on plant equipment, machinery, and electrical systems that support the mining and processing of gypsum into specialty, agricultural, and building products.

Shift:

Rotating 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Shift placement will be determined based on business needs at the time of hire. Candidates must be able to work any shift, including holidays, weekends, overtime, and be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.

Compensation:

Starting pay begins at $33.60 per hour. We're also offering a $5,000 sign on bonus!

What You Will Do

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Electrical maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial or manufacturing environment
• Mechanical trouble shooting skills
• Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

What Will Put You Ahead

• Journeyman Electrical license or certification or an Associate degree in Electrical Maintenance
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 70 standards
• Three (3) or more years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
• Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLCs, A/C and D/C motors, motor controllers and drives
• Experience working with robotics
• Experience working with 480 & 4160 volt systems
