Primary Purpose of the Position

This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining equipment, and improving safety and efficiency, including working with safeguarding equipment.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Follow safety practices and procedures as per plant and corporate directives, including reviewing SOPs.
  2. Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed process equipment, including electrical power, automation controllers, VFDs, sensors, and inspection devices.
  3. Identify and design process improvements to address inefficiencies and electrical issues.
  4. Diagnose malfunctions and correct them using measurements and PLC software, improving line performance.
  5. Maintain communication and documentation through logs, schematics, and software updates.
  6. Determine supplies needed for each task.
  7. Work on a 12-hour shift schedule (6:00 pm - 6:00 am, 4 days on, 3 days off), with possible overtime and on-call duties.
  8. Comply with environmental regulations regarding hazardous materials and waste management.
  9. Build effective work relationships, handle stress, and maintain a positive work environment.
Position Requirements & Competencies
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Electro-Mechanical Technology Degree preferred.
  • Rockwell PLC experience preferred.
Skills
  • Evaluate and adapt electrical/electronic techniques.
  • Understand equipment operation principles.
  • Train and instruct personnel effectively.
  • Use hand tools, electronic test equipment, and operate computers.
  • Interest and aptitude in mechanics and electronics.
  • Work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of equipment nomenclature, automation controllers, electrical-mechanical devices, wiring, and schematics.
  • Ability to perform electrical wiring and assembly to specifications.
Other Requirements
  • Work in a manufacturing environment, sometimes in high temperatures or confined spaces.
  • Handle occupational hazards safely.
  • Wear appropriate PPE.
  • May require travel to other plant locations.
