Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Industrial Electrician for a Florida-based commercial and industrial contractor. Responsibilities include wiring, testing, and maintaining electrical systems, reading blueprints, and troubleshooting PLC-driven equipment.

Travel and night work may be required. The role requires 3+ years of industrial electrical experience and strong knowledge of NEC standards, with opportunities for advancement and training in the FEAT/NEFBA programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC codes and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Experience with PLCs and control systems is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems using testing tools.
• Connect wires to breakers, transformers, and components.
• Inspect systems for hazards and compliance with codes.

Job Details

Travel & night work may be required. MUST be able to work out of town and nights, on occasion.

Industrial Electrician Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of all systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

• 3+ years of industrial electrical experience.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to thoroughly follow instructions.
• Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Proficient in Blueprint reading.
• Understanding of one-line diagrams and PLCs.
• Class A CDL *Preferred*
• Highway Lighting experience *Preferred*
• Wastewater and Water Treatment Plant experience *Preferred*
