Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies is hiring an Industrial Electrician at the Pittsburgh Deicing Facility to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, interpret blueprints and schematics, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will follow safety policies, work with motors, control panels, transformers, and equipment in a loud production environment, collaborating with teams to meet manufacturing goals.

Qualifications

• At least a level 3 apprentice
• Red Seal in Industrial Electrical would be considered an asset
• Valid Passport and eligibility to travel
• Valid Driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
• Set up, test, maintain, and repair electrical systems including wiring, conduits, transformers and control panels
• Diagnose electrical issues and perform repairs on motors and equipment
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to layout electrical systems
• Complete commissioning activities to ensure proper operation of electrical systems

This includes troubleshooting, interpret blueprints and schematics, and ensure safety and compliance with electrical codes and regulations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):Follow all safety policies, standards, and procedures in order to achieve a safe and healthy work environment for all staff, customers, and visitors.Similarly support Inland’s environmental commitments by helping to limit our organization’s impact on the ecosystem;Promoting and adhering to our safety and respectful workplace culture and instilling this culture while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance with all employee-focused regulations and state and federal rules and regulations;Abide by all Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook;Setting up new electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, components, transformers and control systems;Regularly checking, maintaining, and repairing existing electrical systems and equipment, including motors and control panels;Diagnosing and resolving electrical issues, such as short circuits, low voltage, and equipment repairs;Performing various commissioning activities to ensure proper functioning of safety and electrical system and components;Adhering to all electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards;Keeping records of changes, and documentation updates;Reading and Interpreting schematics, drawings, and other technical documents to facilitate the layout of electrical systems;To accomplish any other tasks or projects that may, from time to time, be assigned by management.Required Skills and Abilities:Skills in troubleshooting and thrives on technical problem solving;Ability to plan and execute;Willingness to engage in hands-on development, testing, and root cause investigations;Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to listen to others and value opinions;Willing to learn new skills and adapt to change.Education and ExperienceAt least a level 3 apprentice;Red Seal in Industrial Electrical would be considered an asset. Certifications/Licenses: Valid Passport and eligibility to travel;Valid Driver’s license;Work Environment:The Industrial Electrician will spend most of their time in a manufacturing and production working environment facilitating electrical tasks to meet manufacturing goals. There will be regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and vibration). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. There will be times when the industrial electrician will be required to work outside of their normal work schedule, so that we may meet the needs of our customers and/or operational requirements.Physical Demands:It is expected that the candidate be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements;Position involves standing for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms;Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally;Wearing of personal protective equipment when required and full mobility allowing for freedom of movement in high-risk environment;Must be able to speak clearly and hear efficiently;Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Travel:At times some small durations of travel could be required. Expected to be less than 10% on average.Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.
